Before hiking around Shikoku, I had asked everyone I knew for intentions. The purpose was to carry along the dreams and hopes of the people around me. At the time, I had connected the notion of donations with the intentions to ground them. Each intention carried, whether a prayer, thought or otherwise, accompanied a donation when possible.
But this time, we take it further.
This time I want your dreams. I want to take your dreams to every wonderful place I find, every holy place in the world, and every bastion of education.
So, I want you to sit back for a second. I don’t care if you’re 5 years old or 105. I want you to sit back and think. These can be big dreams. Maybe you want to become an astronaut, or travel the world. Or maybe these are much smaller dreams. Maybe you want to be a good parent or child. Whatever it may be, I’ll give you three minutes to meditate over this. Set a timer and come back…
Ok… so? Got it? Okay, That’s step 1.
Here’s step 2. Take out your wallet… Come on. I promise, I’m not asking you for money, just take out your wallet. Okay? Okay, good. Now, open it up and take out five dollars or five euros or five hundred yen… Now, put that on the table and put your wallet back in your pocket.
This is your seed money.
This is the money you will use to go after your dream. Maybe you can buy a notebook, or send a hallmark card to one of your children. Either way, this is now money you must use to help go after your dream, k?
Okay, step 3… In the following form, I want you to write out your dream and send it to me. I will include it in my notebook as I had before. This time, however, I don’t want you to send money to me. I want you to take that five dollars and immediately put it into use towards that dream.
